Pizza Loop

Auto-dispatch delivery

Every delivery order fires an Uber courier. Automatically.

Your customer places a delivery order. We dispatch an Uber Direct courier the moment payment lands. They get a live tracking link. You pay Uber's floor, plus a small markup you set. No app for the customer to download. No dispatch call for you to make.

The problem with generic pizza delivery

You have two options today. Hire in-house drivers (expensive, hard to staff, wrong on Wednesdays and busy on Fridays). Or route orders through DoorDash / Uber Eats / Grubhub as a marketplace (they take 30 percent and own your customer).

Slice, the pizza-focused POS, offers backup drivers via Uber and DoorDash. But it's owner-triggered: an order comes in, you look at the queue, decide to dispatch, click a button. The customer waits during that gap. And Slice's price floor is $6.90 per delivery marked up over Uber's own $6.99 base.

What Pizza Loop does differently

  • Auto-dispatch by default. Payment lands → courier request fires. Zero human latency between order and dispatch.
  • Live customer tracking. The customer gets a hosted tracking page with courier map location and ETA, texted to them via SMS. Uber generates the URL; we pipe it through.
  • Pass-through pricing. You pay Uber's per-delivery fee (starts around $6.99). We take a small platform markup you set on the config screen, default zero. What Slice keeps as margin, you keep.
  • Manual override. If you'd rather review each dispatch, toggle auto-dispatch off and click Dispatch when you're ready. Same tool, different workflow.
  • Failure surfaced in KDS. If Uber has no courier, the order stays in your Kitchen Display flagged as "assign in-house". No customer surprise, no lost order.

What it takes to turn on

  1. Sign up free at direct.uber.com (about 5 minutes: accept terms, add billing).
  2. Grab three credentials from the Developer tab: Customer ID, Client ID, Client Secret.
  3. Paste them into your Pizza Loop dashboard under Uber Direct. Click Test. Click Save.
  4. Take your first delivery order. Watch the courier get dispatched. Watch the customer's SMS come through with the tracking link.

Two business days from signup to first live courier for a shop in a covered US metro.

Coverage and eligibility

US-only under Uber's standard Direct terms. Coverage matches Uber's rideshare footprint — broader than DoorDash Drive in secondary markets. Uber can reduce your radius during weather events; the checkout will surface "no courier available" so the customer knows before paying.

What's on the roadmap

  • DoorDash Drive as automatic fallback when Uber returns no courier.
  • Roadie / Onfleet as orchestration for catering-size loads.
  • In-house driver assignment view for shops that use their own delivery team.
  • Delivery cost analytics per shop, per zone, per hour — so you know when Uber costs more than an in-house driver.
